    Description

Here's an original informational brochure for General Motors'
    Train of Tomorrow
.  If you thought that GM built only automobiles, check out this 1947 brochure which describes a "futuristic" train that the automaker had designed.  The train had four different types of cars: the "Star Dust" Chair Car, the "Sky View" Dining Car, the "Dream Cloud" Sleeping Car, and the "Moon Glow" Observation Car.  The complete train is illustrated on one side of this six-panel fold out brochure.  The back of the brochure has drawings of what the inside of each car would look like.  There's also a panel titled "The story behind the Train of Tomorrow" which talks about how the train started to take shape in 1944 and ends with the sentence: "Some day, perhaps sooner than you think, its revolutionary advances in comfort and convenience will begin to appear in regularly scheduled trains."  This brochure is about 3.5" X 5.5" when folded, and about 3.5" X 33" when fully opened.  It's in excellent condition for its age.  There are three brown areas on the brochure which could be residue from rubber cement, if this item had been stored in an album.  There are no rips, tears, or creases on this brochure.  Thanks for looking!
Please read the information in the Payment and Shipping tab and look at all of the photos to judge the condition for yourself before buying because returns are not accepted.  The photos are considered part of the description of this item, and the buyer will receive the brochure pictured in this listing.
