    DONALD DUCK’S NEPHEW HUEY - EVAN K SHAW/AMERICAN POTTERY DISNEY MINIATURE 1953!
For That Special Donald Duck’s Nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Collector
You are bidding on a Evan K. Shaw American Pottery 1953 Walt Disney’s Donald Duck’s Nephew “HUEY” Miniature Figurine - ONLY - 1 1/4” Tall
Here we find one of Donald Duck’s mischievous three little Nephews, Huey! The mere mentioning of the very names of Huey, Dewey and Louie was enough to make Donald’s spine convulse, for these three cheerful individuals seemed to create deliberate malice and misery for his life over the years!
In 1953 and to the end of the Evan K. Shaw Disney license two years later, a line of Disney Miniatures were introduced. The line included, a Peter Pan set of Peter, Nana, Tinker Bell, Wendy, Michael and a Mermaid which were sold separately in a clear plastic presentation box. Other miniature characters produced for the series included Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the Three Little Pigs, Dumbo, Bambi, Lady and the Tramp, Mickey, Pluto, Donald and his Nephews among others. These Disney Miniatures are much more difficult to find than the larger Evan K. Shaw/American Pottery figures. Perhaps due to their size, the glaze on these miniatures often seem to be of an un-even quality and crazing is commonly evident.
Huey is in Fair Condition with some loss of paint, rough spots and considerable crazing which is not uncommon for ceramic pieces of this age. There are remnants of the yellow glue used to secure the original label, however, the label is no longer attached.
This hard-to-find 1953 Evan K. Shaw/ American Pottery “Huey" is now over 65 YEARS OLD! We are willing to work on the price for this item, therefore we have listed it as a BUY-IT-NOW item. You also have the opportunity to MAKE-AN-OFFER!
American Pottery was founded by Evan K. Shaw who was a former Vernon Kilns employee. During the period of 1943 through 1955, Evan K. Shaw created the largest ceramics outfit in the Los Angeles area under many different Company names and Disney Licenses including Metlox and The American Pottery Company. Evan K. Shaw's American Pottery signed its first contract with Disney on February 4, 1943. Shaw/American Pottery figures are known for their details, expressions and quality. Shaw/American Pottery had their own Mold Makers. The Disney Studios would provide model sheets to be followed for each design. Once Shaw/American Pottery came up with a new concept, it would have to be approved by the Disney Studio artists and the Disney licensing division before any production could begin.
